Senior Network Architect

About the role

As a Senior Network Architect at Datacom you will design and evolve complex enterprise LAN and WAN environments, aligning them with business needs and organisational standards. You will work closely with customers, technology leaders and project teams to deliver scalable, high‑performing network solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document complex LAN/WAN architectures that meet current and future requirements.
• Define network architecture within established enterprise architecture principles, standards and policies.
• Provide technical guidance, assess network performance and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Lead technical discussions and translate complex concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and governing enterprise network architectures across multi‑site environments.
• Strong understanding of network security, segmentation, firewalls and Zero Trust principles.
• Proven ability to create scalable, resilient designs that support business continuity.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, technology or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• LAN/WAN design, routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Network security architecture, firewalls, secure remote access.
• Hybrid cloud networking (Microsoft Azure, AWS).
• SD‑WAN, software‑defined networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
• Network automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform or Python.
