Senior Mobile Engineer

About the role

Equiem is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join its Melbourne‑based mobile team. You will work on the company’s mission‑critical iOS and Android applications that enable tenants to access buildings, book spaces, manage visitor passes and engage with their workplace community. The role is fully remote, allowing you to collaborate with cross‑functional squads from anywhere in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship end‑to‑end features for both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) from specification through App Store/Play Store release.
• Contribute to the complete rebuild of the Android application and maintain feature parity with iOS.
• Integrate with Equiem’s federated GraphQL API and third‑party SDKs for access control, push notifications and hardware interfaces.
• Solve device‑level challenges such as NFC credentials, Bluetooth access passes, biometric authentication and background services.
• Write architectural documents (RFCs, ADRs), make technical decisions and mentor junior engineers.
• Maintain and extend the white‑label app provisioning system, delivering customer‑branded apps via Bitrise.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience building native iOS and/or Android applications.
• Proven track record of delivering features end‑to‑end and releasing them to app stores.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
• Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs and OAuth 2.0 authentication flows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Bitrise, Fastlane) and build signing.
• High standards for code quality, test coverage and post‑release stability.
• Clear communicator able to explain technical trade‑offs without jargon.
