Senior Mining Engineer

About the role

Orelogy, part of the Perenti Group, is a global mining consultancy offering independent technical and strategic advice across the mining lifecycle. It is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join its growing Perth-based consulting team, based in the Perth CBD office on St Georges Terrace. The role combines technical expertise with client engagement, operational improvement and project delivery, with exposure to many commodities, mining methods and project stages, and opportunities for Australian and international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver practical mining engineering solutions and technical advice to clients across a range of operations and projects
• Prepare executable mine designs, mine plans and schedules aligned with operational and business objectives
• Provide technical assurance for Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve (MROR) reporting and governance
• Support mining studies such as scoping, pre-feasibility and definitive feasibility studies
• Assist with mining cost estimation, economic evaluations and technical reporting
• Identify and implement business improvement opportunities
• Maintain client and stakeholder relationships and coach, mentor and support junior engineers
• Take part in project execution, technical reviews and consulting assignments, and champion a strong safety culture
• Undertake site visits and travel as required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years' experience in technical and operational mining environments across a variety of mining methods
• Demonstrated experience supporting MROR reporting
• Experience in both operational and project environments
• At least 3 years' experience leading, mentoring or supervising teams
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (highly regarded)
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Required skills

• Strong experience in mine design, mine planning, scheduling and mining studies
• Advanced proficiency in Deswik and mine planning tools
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills
• Stakeholder engagement and client relationship management
• Analytical, problem-solving and collaborative abilities
