Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC

About the role

A growing, well-established engineering consultancy serving the building services industry is adding a Senior Mechanical Engineer to its Newcastle office. The role works closely with clients, architects, builders and other engineering disciplines to develop practical, value-engineered HVAC solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems and components in line with project requirements and specifications.
• Create HVAC schematics, layouts and detailed designs using Autodesk Revit.
• Collaborate with architects, builders and other engineers to ensure effective system integration.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and project documentation.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during installation and commissioning.
• Identify technical issues and develop solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to value-engineered solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, design principles and relevant industry standards.
• Existing registered design practitioner status or an interest in progressing towards registration is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other relevant Autodesk products.
• Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
