Senior Mechanical Designer – MV/HV Connector Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of next‑generation medium and high‑voltage connector systems used in mining and industrial environments. You will lead projects from concept through to production release, collaborating closely with electrical engineers, test labs, and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of mechanical design outcomes for MV/HV connector systems.
• Lead the design process from initial concept to production release.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, test laboratories, and production teams to ensure field‑ready solutions.
• Participate in testing, validation, and field performance assessments.
• Provide technical authority and make decisive design decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial or heavy‑duty mechanical design.
• Strong CAD capability using SolidWorks, Inventor or similar tools.
• Experience with electromechanical or electrical interface equipment.
• Confidence in owning design decisions and communicating with non‑mechanical stakeholders.
• Experience in mining, HV equipment or harsh‑environment applications is highly regarded.
• Exposure to certification, validation or compliance testing is a plus.
