Senior Manager, Fund Accounting - Operations & Control

About the role

The Senior Fund Accounting Manager – Operations & Control leads the Fund Accounting (unit pricing) teams in Northern Trust Australia, providing strategic direction, performance management and client‑focused service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Fund Accounting business groups, setting goals, priorities and ensuring timely, accurate work completion.
• Conduct performance management, career development, staffing decisions and provide hands‑on training.
• Maintain risk management and compliance programs for the assigned group.
• Act as the primary escalation point for client service delivery and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify automation needs and support system enhancements.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of Australian fund accounting operational processes, controls and systems.
• Excellent internal and client relationship management skills.
• Leadership and organizational abilities to set unit goals, assess staff skills and drive performance.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and commercial awareness to support financial performance.

Required skills

• In‑depth functional/industry knowledge of fund accounting.
• Effective oral and written communication.
