Senior Manager, Delivery

About the role

Altana is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its AI Deployment team, responsible for moving the platform from contract signing to real‑world value for customers. The role combines people leadership with deep technical involvement in deploying agentic AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow a team of AI Deployment Engineers, managing capacity and staffing across multiple customer implementations.
• Define and enforce operating rhythms, playbooks, tooling, and standards to ensure safe, repeatable deployments.
• Own delivery outcomes, set roadmaps, and define measurable success for each engagement.
• Establish technical standards for designing, deploying, and operating agentic AI systems, reviewing designs for reliability, safety, cost and latency.
• Serve as senior technical partner to customers, translating business problems into AI solutions and managing escalations.
• Coordinate engineering, data science, product and customer success teams to keep implementations aligned.

Required profile

• 8+ years of customer‑facing technical delivery experience, including at least 2 years leading engineers or delivery teams.
• Proven ability to build high‑performing technical teams that ship complex solutions on real deadlines.
• Player‑coach mindset with strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity, bias toward automation and repeatable processes.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience building or deploying agentic AI systems (LLM‑powered agents, tool/function calling, retrieval‑augmented generation, multi‑agent orchestration).
• Fluency in prompt engineering, agent evaluation, and production‑ready reliability assessment.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and working with APIs (REST, Swagger/OpenAPI), Git workflows, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and data stores such as Databricks, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Redshift.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) and agent frameworks (LangChain, MCP).
