Senior Manager, Australia Communications

About the role

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is looking for a Senior Manager, Communications in Australia. The role turns complex programs and technology into clear, credible communications for Australian audiences, leading media engagement, developing narratives and supporting senior leaders. It is a hands-on position within a growing Australian business of over 300 employees, working across the Australian business and with international colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications plans supporting Anduril's priorities in Australia
• Build relationships with defence, technology, business and national media and identify substantive stories
• Write and edit announcements, speeches, opinion pieces, briefing materials, social content and executive messages
• Advise Australian leaders on messaging, interviews, speaking opportunities and sensitive issues
• Explain the relevance of program and engineering work to customers and the public
• Plan communications for product and program milestones, partnerships and events
• Manage reactive media enquiries and help prepare for issues or crises
• Coordinate with global communications colleagues and own internal communications for Anduril Australia
• Deliver clear, timely updates such as all-hands meetings and leadership messages
• Measure results and improve plans based on outcomes and feedback

Required profile

• Significant experience in communications, media relations or public affairs, owning complex projects from strategy to execution
• Record of advising senior leaders and working in executive communications
• Experience in technology, defence, government or a similarly complex sector is valuable
• Alignment with the company's mission and the challenges facing the nation

Required skills

• Excellent writing and editing, making technical subjects clear without losing accuracy
• Strong knowledge of the Australian media and policy environment, ideally including defence, national security or technology
• Confidence working with journalists and handling sensitive, high-stakes issues
• Ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on delivery
