About the role
Sharon AI, an Australian neocloud delivering AI infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel with 7‑8 years PQE. The role involves supporting the company’s growth across AI infrastructure, energy partnerships and data centre operations.
Key responsibilities

- Provide timely, pragmatic legal advice to commercial, operations, finance and technical teams on day‑to‑day contractual and legal questions.
- Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, variations and expiry tracking, reducing reliance on ad‑hoc terms.
- Assist corporate and commercial transactions, financing arrangements and structuring work alongside the Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel team.
- Apply sound risk judgement, escalating higher‑risk matters while handling lower‑risk work independently.
- Contribute to the Legal team’s documentation, knowledge management and process improvement.
Required profile
- LLB or JD from a recognised Australian or equivalent overseas institution and current admission as a solicitor in an Australian state or territory with a valid practising certificate.
- 7‑8 years PQE, trained at a top‑tier or large commercial law firm and demonstrated in‑house experience.
- Exposure to technology, data, privacy, infrastructure, data centre, telecommunications or comparable sectors; project finance or energy law background is a plus.
- Full Australian working rights and willingness to be based in Sydney with occasional travel to data centre sites.
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills, commercial judgement and risk assessment ability.
- Excellent plain‑language communication, stakeholder management and ability to work autonomously.
Required skills
- Commercial contract drafting and negotiation across various contract types.
- Financial literacy and ability to assess commercial risk.
- Stakeholder management with sales, procurement, finance and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment.
What we offer
- Hybrid working – flexibility between office and home.
- Birthday leave.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Exposure to AI and next‑generation technology.
- Learning & development support, including conferences and professional memberships.
- Novated leasing for vehicles.
- Bounty referral program and employee of the month recognition.
- Opportunity to impact a fast‑growing global AI infrastructure business.
