Senior Lecturer in Nursing

About the role

The University of Tasmania seeks an experienced nursing academic to provide leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education, driving curriculum innovation and teaching excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to curriculum design, development, review and accreditation activities.
• Mentor and develop early‑career academics and teaching colleagues.
• Build partnerships with health services, professional bodies and the community to keep programmes relevant.
• Contribute to research and scholarly activity appropriate to the workload profile.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, no conditions.
• PhD in nursing or a closely related health field (or working towards).
• Significant recent nursing practice experience and demonstrated leadership in university‑level teaching.
• For a balanced appointment, an established record of research and scholarship at Academic Level C.

What we offer

• Salary up to $184,076 AUD per year (base $138,536‑$157,330 plus superannuation).
• Relocation assistance up to $5,000.
• Full‑time or part‑time employment in Hobart or Launceston.
