Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Regenerative Tourism

About the role

The College of Law, Arts and Social Sciences is seeking an experienced academic to join its Tourism discipline. You may be appointed as a Senior Lecturer (Level C) or an Associate Professor (Level D) focusing on Regenerative Tourism, contributing to research, teaching and service across the College.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Regenerative Tourism.
• Deliver high‑quality teaching, integrate research into learning, and supervise Honours and HDR students.
• Build and maintain research collaborations, secure competitive funding, and publish in reputable outlets.
• Mentor junior staff, coordinate academic units or programs, and participate in governance and service activities.
• For Associate Professors: provide strategic leadership, shape program design, and foster high‑impact partnerships with industry and external organisations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated research excellence in tourism or related fields.
• Strong record of teaching and curriculum development.
• Experience supervising Honours and HDR students.
• Ability to contribute to a collaborative, inclusive and culturally safe academic environment.
• For Associate Professor level: proven leadership, successful grant acquisition and capacity to influence sector practice.

What we offer

• Continuous full‑time appointment (37.5 hours per week).
• Salary range: Senior Lecturer $138,321–$159,219; Associate Professor $166,186–$182,899 (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation.
