Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Nursing

About the role

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University is seeking a senior academic to lead teaching and research in nursing. The position can be appointed at Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) and is based on the Gold Coast campus, with occasional work across other sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses, including curriculum development and course coordination.
• Lead high‑impact research aligned with the School’s strengths, attract competitive funding and publish in top‑tier journals.
• Supervise Honours, Higher Degree Research and postgraduate students, fostering the next generation of nursing scholars.
• Provide academic leadership, mentorship and contribute to strategic initiatives, program coordination and quality enhancement.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, healthcare providers and community organisations to enhance student opportunities and research impact.

Required profile

• PhD in Nursing or a related discipline and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra.
• Demonstrated record of research excellence, including peer‑reviewed publications and success in securing competitive grants.
• Evidence of teaching excellence, curriculum design and experience in course convening or program coordination.
• For the Associate Professor level, an established national or international research impact and strong leadership/collaboration skills.
