Senior Lead Strategy

About the role

As a Senior Lead in the Business & Private Bank Strategy team at ANZ, you will shape the division’s future direction and support key business decisions. You will combine customer, market and business insights to identify opportunities and translate them into clear recommendations for senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic analysis, planning and advisory work across the Business & Private Bank.
• Develop evidence‑based recommendations and executive‑level materials for Board and senior audiences.
• Translate strategic priorities into investment choices and actionable plans.
• Support divisional and enterprise strategic planning cycles aligned with ANZ objectives.
• Assess market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs and performance data.
• Build and interrogate commercial analyses, financial models and scenario testing.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Strategy, Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk and Delivery to influence decisions.
• Apply independent judgement and provide constructive perspectives to strengthen recommendations.

Required profile

• Experience in strategy, management consulting, strategic planning or a related advisory role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for executive and Board audiences.
• Proven strategic problem‑solving and analytical capability with evidence‑based recommendation development.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, define problems, prioritize work and lead projects from framing to recommendation.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders.
