Senior Full-Stack Backend Engineer

About the role

Mable, a healthtech platform connecting people with disability and older Australians with independent support workers, is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer focused on backend development. You will help deliver robust functionality and platform stability, solving complex backend challenges and building efficient, resilient technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to solve complex problems and design effective backend solutions.
• Take technical ownership of entire software projects, keeping backend systems robust, scalable and user-friendly.
• Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of backend code to production.
• Produce clear documentation, including data flows, diagrams, test results and code comments.
• Investigate and resolve backend issues based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
• Follow clean, standardised coding conventions and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience in TDD environments.
• Ability to design and implement backend solutions from requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, especially for technical documentation.

Required skills

• Building, deploying and managing APIs on AWS infrastructure.
• Building scalable backend applications and testing backend code.
• Experience with GitHub and Jira.
