Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Agent)

About the role

Cresta builds a unified AI platform combining conversational AI agents, real-time human agent augmentation and conversation intelligence, used by companies such as United Airlines, Cox Communications and Marriott. Its AI Agent team develops practical AI agents using LLMs and AI Agent systems, and this role works closely with customers and software and machine learning engineers to deliver high-impact deployments and improve the core AI platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure, deploy and optimize AI agents using Cresta's AI platform and tools
• Build integrations with external systems (APIs, databases, CRMs) and optimize performance, including fine-tuning prompts and troubleshooting in complex environments
• Gather technical requirements with customers and stakeholders and turn business needs into AI agent solutions
• Run interactive demos and proof-of-concepts, gather feedback and iterate on solutions
• Define project milestones, create implementation plans and coordinate with internal teams, giving feedback to product and engineering teams and influencing the roadmap
• Work with product managers to define agent goals and shape product capabilities
• Advise customers on best practices, including architecture design, security and scalability

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of full-time experience in software development, consulting, AI/ML engineering or forward deployed engineering
• Excellent communication and project management skills, and a collaborative, data-driven approach (A/B testing, performance monitoring)

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and Golang
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, LLMs and prompt engineering (strongly preferred)
• Understanding of AI agent frameworks, function calling and RAG (hands-on experience strongly preferred)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and DevOps (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring)
• Integrating systems via APIs, webhooks and data pipelines
