Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Versent is seeking a hands‑on Senior Financial Accountant with deep revenue accounting expertise to ensure accurate application of accounting principles across multiple revenue streams. You will partner with finance, sales, legal and operational teams to solve complex accounting challenges and improve processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue, project and cost accounting activities, including audit preparation, consolidation and regulatory submissions.
• Support BAS, GST, payroll tax and ABS reporting and maintain strong financial controls.
• Review customer contracts and Statements of Work to apply appropriate accounting standards.
• Partner with contracts, billing, commercial and sales teams for accurate revenue recognition and timely invoicing.
• Improve finance policies, processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with four or more years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated hands‑on revenue accounting experience and strong understanding of AASB and IFRS.
• Experience reviewing contracts, Statements of Work and project documentation.
• Clear communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capability.
• Experience using accounting or ERP systems.
• Exposure to Workday Financials (advantageous).
