Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for an immediate start on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract, with strong potential to extend or become permanent. This hands‑on position sits within a fast‑paced retail business, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and supervising two staff members.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and analyses.
• Create and post journal entries and support month‑end close activities.
• Assist in improving financial systems and processes.
• Supervise and mentor two junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting or audit role.
• Strong technical accounting skills and high organisational ability.
• Comfortable working with legacy systems in a rapid environment.
• Full working rights in Australia and currently residing in Melbourne.
