Senior Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join a well‑established Brisbane business in Eight Mile Plains. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own day‑to‑day finance operations, mentor junior staff and support senior leadership with financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage month‑end processes, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare cash‑flow updates and assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Support inventory reconciliations and collaborate closely with operational teams.
• Mentor and train junior finance team members, providing constructive feedback.
• Monitor financial controls, compliance requirements and internal procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Finance Officer, Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially month‑end reporting and reconciliations.
• Experience overseeing or mentoring AP/AR staff.
• Hands‑on approach with the confidence to take ownership of daily finance operations.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and lead by example.
