Financial Controller – Brisbane (Hybrid)

About the role

The company, the Australian arm of a globally listed French industrial group, is seeking its first Finance Controller in Australia. Reporting to the Regional CFO and working closely with the Managing Director, you will shape and own the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end finance function, including month‑end close, reconciliations, financial statements and year‑end reporting.
• Manage Australian compliance such as BAS, payroll tax, superannuation, FBT and WorkCover.
• Deliver monthly Group reporting with commentary for senior leadership.
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasts, multi‑year cash‑flow forecasting and support ERP upgrades.
• Oversee cash management, banking relationships and working capital.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and act as a trusted business partner on pricing and cost control.

Required profile

• 5–10 years experience in financial control, FP&A, audit or similar, preferably in an SME or standalone environment.
• Australian CPA, CA or ACCA qualification and right to work in Australia.
• Hands‑on experience owning month‑end processes and building budgets/forecasts.
• Proven ability to challenge senior stakeholders diplomatically.
• Stable career history with intention to build a long‑term role.
