Internal Audit Advisor

About the role

As an Internal Audit Advisor based in Brisbane and Sydney, you will support Great Southern Bank’s purpose of helping Australians own their homes. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver risk‑based internal audits, provide trusted advice on risk and controls, and help strengthen governance and risk management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver risk‑based internal audits from planning through reporting and follow‑up.
• Identify, analyse and assess risks and controls, offering practical recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships with business leaders to support effective risk management.
• Contribute to the development of the rolling internal audit plan and continuous improvement of audit processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in internal audit, risk, assurance, financial services or professional services.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate control effectiveness.
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders and building productive relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presenting findings.
• Relevant qualifications such as CPA, CA, CIA, IIA (or progress towards completion) are highly regarded.
