Senior Finance Manager (Financial Controller) - Perth

About the role

An experienced Financial Controller is sought to own the Australian finance function, partner with business leaders and help shape the next phase of growth. The role combines strong financial governance with commercial influence and business transformation, based in Perth, Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate and timely management and statutory reporting to Group Finance in Malaysia.
• Review and present monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) with commentary on performance, variances and key drivers, and recommend improvements.
• Act as finance business partner to Australian leadership, operations, sales and wholesale teams, advising on margins, stock, floor-plan, receivables and working capital.
• Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts and cash flow forecasts, and monitor performance against budget.
• Manage treasury, banking and financier relationships, including floor-plan facilities, financier reporting and covenant compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and statutory obligations such as GST/BAS, income tax and ASIC lodgements, and align local accounting policies with Group policies.
• Maintain internal controls over financial reporting, including delegation of authority, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Act as main contact for local auditors and coordinate with Group auditors, and work closely with the Malaysia-based Group Finance and Shared Services team.
• Drive post-acquisition integration of Australian finance into the Group, including migration to the Group accounting system and chart of accounts mapping.
• Approve standard operating procedures, lead the handover of non-finance activities, and act as a member of management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• CPA Australia or CA ANZ membership.
• At least 10 years of finance, accounting and treasury experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role.
• Experience managing or collaborating with remote, offshore or shared services finance teams.
• Experience in accounting system implementation, migration or integration; post-acquisition integration experience highly regarded.
• Automotive industry experience (wholesale, dealership operations or floorplan financing) is an advantage.
• Full working rights in Australia with no restrictions.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of AASB, Australian taxation and statutory compliance (GST, BAS, income tax).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; PowerPoint and Word; BI and financial reporting tools are an advantage.
• Proven business partnering and stakeholder communication skills.
