Senior Engineer - WSUD & CQA

About the role

Egis is hiring experienced Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) engineers with a minimum of 7 years' experience to join its Brisbane-based Flood, Stormwater and Waterway Management team. The role covers planning, development and design of civil and multi-disciplinary projects, with a balanced split between office and local site-based work.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and design civil and multi-disciplinary projects including stormwater drainage systems, detention basins, bioretention systems, wetlands, stormwater harvesting ponds, open channels and waterways.
• Carry out technical works and reviews for water quality and waterway civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review design documentation such as design reports, technical specifications, drawings, BOQs and cost estimates.
• Train and support early career engineers on projects.
• Participate in client management, business development and proposal writing.

Required profile

• Tertiary engineering degree (essential).
• Minimum 7 years of experience; experience in a consulting environment highly desirable.
• Good knowledge and application of Local Government standards and water by design standards.
• Knowledge of stormwater engineering, hydrological theory, Australian rainfall and runoff and water hydraulics.
• Enjoys practical solutions, flexibility, accountability and professionalism, and communicates well.
