Senior Engineer - Water Infrastructure

About the role

SMEC is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join its Water team in Brisbane. You will work on major water and wastewater projects across Queensland and Australia, contributing to the full water cycle from planning through design to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical design and project outcomes for water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pumping stations and treatment facilities.
• Manage project tasks, budgets and stakeholder expectations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders and business development activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure deliverables meet client requirements, technical standards and quality expectations.
• Support the commercial success of projects and apply sound project‑management principles.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience delivering water infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• RPEQ accreditation (or ability to obtain) is highly regarded.
• Proven experience in technical delivery, project management and client engagement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
