Senior Engineer – Bridges, Structures & Ports

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the design and analysis of bridge, port and maritime infrastructure projects in Australia. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, compliant solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse bridge structures from concept through detailed engineering and construction documentation using industry‑standard software.
• Develop structural solutions for ports, wharves, breakwaters and other marine facilities, including hydraulic modelling and geotechnical considerations.
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations and technical specifications for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers and other engineers to integrate structural requirements into overall project delivery.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources while ensuring quality, safety and compliance with Australian Standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with proven bridge and/or port design expertise.
• Professional engineering licence or eligibility for registration with Engineers Australia preferred.
• Experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects in the Australian market is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000 or equivalent structural analysis and design software.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software and geotechnical analysis as applied to structural design.
