Senior Electrical Engineer - Renewables

About the role

Arcadis is expanding its renewables capability in Australia and seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery of utility‑scale solar projects. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to detailed design, ensuring compliance with Australian codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare utility‑scale solar farm designs using PV modelling tools such as PVCase, Helios 3D or PVSyst.
• Develop engineering deliverables including drawings, design reports, cable sizing calculations, MTO and BOM.
• Lead detailed engineering documentation and provide technical oversight for the project team.
• Manage project tasks to meet budget, quality and schedule targets.
• Conduct internal reviews and quality checks of models, calculations and other deliverables.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of engineering design experience in renewable energy, with at least 2 years in PV design.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or Civil Engineering) from a recognised institution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and excellent mathematical abilities.

Required skills

• PVCase, Helios 3D, PVSyst solar design software.
• CAD tools, Cymcap, ETAP, Revit.
• Preparation of design packages: drawings, reports, datasheets, schematics.
• Familiarity with Australian solar codes and standards.
• Python scripting for task automation.
