Senior DevSecOps Engineer

About the role

Raytheon Australia is looking for two Senior DevSecOps Engineers to design, develop and implement a secure Software Factory for the Australian Defence Force. The role works in a hybrid environment, collaborating with engineering and technology teams across multiple defence programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a DevSecOps tools ecosystem, including GitLab, Artifactory/Xray and SonarQube.
• Create automation scripts (ARM templates, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible) to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Contribute to cyber‑assurance controls, platform roadmaps and a SaaS‑based delivery model.
• Manage Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including VMs, VNets, NSGs, monitoring and cost management.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters and support Linux (RHEL) and VMware environments.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience supporting software development and operations.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services and identity/RBAC solutions (Active Directory, Keycloak).
• Experience working in highly regulated, cyber‑secure or defence‑related environments.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 (future NV2) security clearance.

Required skills

• Kubernetes administration (CNCF certification preferred).
• GitLab or equivalent CI/CD platform.
• Artifactory/Xray or similar artifact repository.
• Automation scripting: ARM templates, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible.
• Container technologies: Docker, Podman.
• Package managers: NuGet, crates, pip.
• Azure infrastructure management (VM, VNet, NSG, Azure CLI, Azure Monitor, Cost Management).
• Linux (RHEL) and VMware ecosystem knowledge.
