Job description

About the role

Ryan is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who designs and implements a fully automated CI/CD ecosystem, an Internal Developer Portal (IDP) and secure cloud networking across AWS, Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. The role combines a software development background with cloud infrastructure, automation and platform engineering so that engineering teams can build, test and deploy software faster and more reliably.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion a DevOps culture focused on automation, continuous improvement, collaboration and transparency, and partner with development teams to improve reliability, performance and deployment practices.
  • Build an Internal Developer Portal with self-service infrastructure, application templates and deployment workflows, integrate it with CI/CD, identity management and observability, and maintain service catalogs and documentation standards.
  • Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Java.NET and Node.js applications, with automated testing, security scanning and quality gates, and reusable pipeline templates.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure using Terraform, build reusable modules, and implement secure, scalable networking and cloud-native architecture.
  • Set up monitoring, logging and alerting, integrate DevSecOps practices, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new tools and automation.

Required profile

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud or platform engineering, with six+ years of hands-on CI/CD tool experience.
  • Deep Java and/or Node.js expertise, strong AWS and/or Azure experience including networking and serverless, and experience designing scalable cloud-native architectures.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field; valid driver's license required.
  • No supervisory responsibilities; occasional long periods of sitting, regular interaction with employees, vendors and clients, and up to 10% independent travel.

Required skills

  • CI/CD tools such as Harness, CloudBees, Jenkins and Azure DevOps
  • Terraform, Ansible and AWS CloudFormation
  • Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server (including Availability Groups)
  • Python, PowerShell, Bash and scripting
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Git branching strategies and DevSecOps
  • Preferred: experience with an Internal Developer Portal, service mesh, API gateways, observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK) and multicloud environments

What we offer

  • Hybrid work options and an award-winning culture
  • 14 weeks of 100% paid leave for new parents (adoption included) and a four-week company-paid sabbatical after five years
  • Monthly gym membership or equipment reimbursement, benefits eligibility effective day one, 401K with employer match, tuition reimbursement after one year, fertility assistance program
  • Pay ranges by state: $103,000-$163,900 depending on location
