Senior DevOps Engineer – AWS, Security & Automation

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high‑impact engineering team delivering critical digital services at scale across Australia. You will work in a modern AWS environment, tackling complex infrastructure challenges, improving security posture, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance AWS infrastructure, networking, firewall and security capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on large‑scale platform initiatives.
• Advance infrastructure‑as‑code maturity using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Support secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines and cloud engineering practices.
• Participate in cross‑team technical initiatives and operational improvements.
• Deliver both BAU support and project work in a production environment.
• Explore AI and automation opportunities within engineering workflows.

Required profile

• Strong AWS engineering and networking experience.
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and familiarity with the Essential 8 framework.
• Hands‑on mindset with strong troubleshooting capability in production environments.
• Development or scripting background with interest in AI/GenAI tools.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, low‑ego approach and strong communication skills.
• Bonus: ability to read/review code, experience managing test environments, exposure to AWS Bedrock or AI‑assisted development tools.
