Senior Designer – Roads, Integrated Transport & Mobility

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Designer to join its Roads, Integrated Transport and Mobility team in Mackay. You will work on projects that shape regional and state road networks, delivering innovative and resilient solutions that support communities and sustainable mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges.
• Provide high‑quality advice that informs design and decision‑making.
• Contribute to resilient, innovative engineering solutions for road and transport infrastructure.
• Apply advanced analytics and optimisation techniques to enhance performance.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification with experience in road design using 12d Design Software.
• Experience delivering TMR and regional road projects from concept to detailed design (desired).
• Strong knowledge of Austroads guidelines, TMR standards and road design best practice (desired).
• Proven track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to see the big picture and challenge assumptions.
