Painter & Decorator

About the role

Mercure Hotel Perth is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to maintain and enhance the aesthetic standards of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces. The role combines trade expertise with routine maintenance tasks to ensure a pristine environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Execute interior and exterior painting, touch‑ups, wallpaper application, plaster patching, and surface preparation across various hotel areas.
• Perform routine general maintenance including carpentry touch‑ups, door hardware adjustments, fixture repairs, basic tiling and caulking.
• Conduct preventative maintenance checks, identify wear‑and‑tear issues, and log or resolve them promptly.
• Adhere to health, safety and fire‑life‑safety protocols while working around guests and staff.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Housekeeping teams to coordinate room turnarounds and refurbishments.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate in Painting and Decorating or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in commercial painting and general building maintenance, preferably in hospitality or large‑scale facilities.
• Positive, customer‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.
