Senior Data Lead

About the role

The Senior Data Lead will consolidate RSGx's existing Power BI environment and migrate it to a shared medallion data architecture. Working within the construction industry, you will standardise business definitions and ensure reliable reporting throughout the transition.

Key responsibilities

• Review and migrate Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, dataflows, and access controls across group companies.
• Design and implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers in Azure SQL, including ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Collaborate with the Data, Systems and Reporting Manager and implementation partners to deliver a governed Generative Business Intelligence (GenBI) architecture using Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop governed departmental and corporate Fabric semantic models linked to curated Azure SQL data.
• Implement access controls, deployment practices, monitoring and operational documentation.

Required profile

• Experienced Data Lead with strong data engineering and business data modelling capabilities.
• Hands‑on expertise in SQL, Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven ability to translate business processes and reporting requirements into consistent data structures.
• Comfortable leading technical delivery and guiding data/reporting developers.

Required skills

• Power BI (semantic models, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, row‑level security).
• SQL and Azure SQL data services.
• Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Data Agents and GenBI concepts.
• Data profiling, cleansing, reconciliation and automated quality validation.
• Familiarity with SaaS APIs, C#/.NET, Python and Microsoft Entra ID (desirable).
