Senior Conveyancing Clerk

About the role

Alexander Rashidi Lawyers is seeking an experienced Senior Conveyancing Clerk for its Real Estate & Construction practice in Brisbane, on a part-time basis. Working closely with the lawyers, you will handle day-to-day property transactions, with a focus on development projects, commercial property and conveyancing matters. The role suits someone who enjoys direct client contact, takes ownership of their work and manages files from opening to settlement under lawyer supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Manage conveyancing files from opening through to settlement under lawyer supervision
• Assist with off-the-plan and development projects, and commercial acquisitions and disposals
• Manage residential conveyancing matters
• Maintain matters in the firm's practice management system
• Prepare and maintain PEXA and PEXA Projects workspaces and coordinate electronic settlements
• Undertake property searches and prepare correspondence and transaction documents
• Coordinate settlement requirements, adjustments and dealings registration
• Liaise with clients, agents, banks, other law firms and stakeholders, escalating legal or commercial issues to lawyers promptly

Required profile

• Substantial conveyancing experience, ideally including development work for property developers
• Confidence managing transactions autonomously while knowing when lawyer input is needed
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with regular direct contact
• Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise by urgency
• Proactive approach, sound judgement and ability to work independently and within a legal team

Required skills

• Strong experience with PEXA and PEXA Projects
• Proficiency with legal practice management systems, Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
