Senior Consultant – Urban Planning

About the role

Urbis is seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant to join its Gold Coast office, providing statutory urban planning advice and leading high‑impact land use and policy projects for both private and public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to Material Change of Use, ROL development, Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, Variation Applications and TLPIS submissions.
• Provide high‑quality planning analysis informed by government policies, regional priorities and market trends.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including economics, urban design, transport and community planning specialists.
• Prepare and review reports, presentations and public‑facing documents that clearly communicate complex planning concepts.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.

Required profile

• tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an urban planning consultancy or government environment.
• Strong knowledge of strategic and statutory planning legislation and processes.

Required skills

• Statutory urban planning expertise.
• Understanding of land‑use development impacts and issues.
