Senior Consultant – Public Sector Risk

About the role

Join Marsh's JLT Public Sector team in Melbourne as a Senior Consultant, delivering risk services to local and state government clients. This hybrid role requires at least three days a week in the office and occasional travel within Victoria and Tasmania.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oral and written risk advice on operational, business resilience, property, liability and professional indemnity issues.
• Develop and deliver education, guidance and assurance tools for members.
• Lead seminars, workshops and training sessions for client staff.
• Travel within Victoria and Tasmania, including occasional overnight trips.

Required profile

• Deep practical experience applying risk management philosophies and practices.
• Proven ability to plan and execute policy and operational consulting projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
• Understanding of civil liability law and risk related to property and assets.

Required skills

• Strong communication and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Experience coordinating seminars and workshops.
• Knowledge of liability, insurance and claims management.
• Familiarity with Local Government Act and related legislation.
