Senior Consultant – Project Assurance (Commercial & Finance)

About the role

KPMG’s Project Assurance, Controls & Engineering (PACE) team partners with clients to improve the success of major infrastructure projects. As a Senior Consultant you will provide commercial and financial assurance for large‑scale Australian infrastructure programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform commercial and financial analysis of contractor bids during tender award evaluations.
• Collaborate with client staff to understand systems, processes and controls related to project delivery.
• Audit the design and operating effectiveness of key systems and processes to ensure project risks are managed.
• Review transaction and financial data from contractors to assess compliance with contract agreements.
• Conduct on‑site reviews of governance processes and controls.
• Execute target cost reconciliations, milestone and KPI/KRA reviews to determine project financial position at completion.

Required profile

• Recent experience delivering client‑side, government or advisory contract audit, assurance or control services for infrastructure or capital‑intensive projects.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, present findings and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience working across all project stages from concept to delivery in complex infrastructure programmes.
