Senior Consultant - Internal Audit, Risk Consulting

About the role

EY is looking for a Senior Consultant to join its Process and Controls team, delivering internal audit and assurance services for government and public sector clients. The role is based in Canberra (Ngambri) and is open to candidates anywhere in Australia who can work remotely; flexible hours may be possible. Candidates need relevant experience and Australian citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of internal audit projects, completing them on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored internal audit strategies addressing risk management and process controls.
• Use project management skills to oversee audit plans from initiation to completion.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years' experience in project delivery, possibly in internal audit, risk management or the public sector.
• A foundation in risk and control principles, a track record of managing audit or risk projects, or a willingness to learn.
• Australian citizenship and the ability to work in Canberra, including holding or upgrading to an NV1 clearance.
• Tertiary qualification.

Required skills

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to influence project teams.
• Progress towards professional certifications such as CPA, CIA or CISA, or a commitment to achieve them.
• Experience with digital audit tools and enthusiasm for new technologies.
