Senior Commercial Specialist

About the role

KBR’s Infrastructure Solutions Australia division is expanding its Defence, Buildings and Nuclear market sector. The Senior Commercial Specialist will support the growing pipeline of projects and proposals, ensuring strong commercial leadership across major contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Support pursuit teams with contracting strategies for prime contracts, sub‑contracts and purchase orders.
• Administer commercial activities such as claims, variations, delays and subcontract execution.
• Provide timely project information to Project Managers for decision‑making.
• Assist in negotiating major sub‑contracts and purchase orders, ensuring risk and commercial terms are flowed down.
• Monitor project financial performance, risks, cash flow and adherence to commercial targets.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Law, Finance, Management or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 8 years experience with contractors, subcontractors and owners on defence or government infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of government and defence contract complexities.
• Proven commercial management experience in infrastructure, engineering consulting or construction.

Required skills

• Proficient in preparing and submitting contractual notices, processing variations and managing extensions of time.
• Ability to track and manage contract costs and ensure compliance with commercial terms.
