Senior Commercial Analyst

About the role

An established and growing organisation is seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to support strategic decision-making, commercial projects, investment analysis and business performance initiatives. The role partners closely with senior leadership and operational teams, providing commercial insights, financial modelling and analytical support. It is a highly visible position with broad exposure to strategic initiatives and executive stakeholders, based in North Sydney with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support commercial and strategic projects.
• Prepare business cases, investment appraisals and decision-support analysis.
• Conduct scenario modelling, forecasting and sensitivity analysis.
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends and opportunities.
• Partner with key stakeholders to provide commercial insights and recommendations.
• Support pricing, capital investment and growth initiatives.
• Evaluate risks, opportunities and project viability to support decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.
• Improve reporting processes, modelling tools and analytical frameworks.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Corporate Finance, Deals, Valuations or Strategy.
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proven business partnering and stakeholder management experience.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building models from first principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
