Manager / Senior Manager - Expert Witness

About the role

McGrathNicol, an independent professional services firm covering Cyber, Deals, Forensic, Performance, Restructuring and Risk & Compliance, is looking for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join its Forensic team in Sydney. The role sits within the expert witness and disputes practice, working on complex, high-value matters alongside respected practitioners, with autonomy over significant client work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead expert witness, forensic accounting and disputes advisory engagements
• Analyse commercial issues for expert witness, focusing on valuation, corporate finance, loss analysis and diligence
• Prepare and review expert reports, financial analyses, valuations and financial models
• Manage client, legal adviser and other stakeholder relationships throughout engagements
• Lead, coach and develop junior team members
• Support business development and contribute to the growth of the practice
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships through exceptional client service and technical expertise

Required profile

• CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent professional qualification
• Significant experience in forensic accounting, disputes advisory, valuations, transaction services or a related advisory environment
• Proven experience leading engagements, managing client relationships and mentoring team members
• Strong commercial acumen and sound judgement in complex and sensitive matters

Required skills

• Accounting, financial analysis and financial modelling
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, able to present complex information clearly
