Senior Commercial Agronomist

About the role

The Lucas Group presents a rare greenfield opportunity with a well-established Australian plant nutrition business. As Senior Commercial Agronomist you will take national ownership of market development, working directly with corporate farming operations and large family growers to design, implement and commercialise season-long crop programmes, backed by 30+ years of proprietary IP and agronomic data. The role is remote, based in South Australia, Victoria or New South Wales, with extensive national travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead national relationships with agribusinesses and growers across Australia.
• Identify, pursue and convert new commercial opportunities.
• Design integrated crop programmes combining seed treatment, nutrition and bioproducts.
• Establish and manage a trial and demonstration programme, then commercialise its outcomes.
• Work alongside distribution partners while directly owning key accounts.
• Operate with significant autonomy and direct access to the CEO.

Required profile

• Demonstrated success in agribusiness sales, business development or commercial agronomy.
• Strong, pre-existing relationships with key growers and influential agronomists.
• Deep horticulture knowledge and established industry networks.
• Commercial mindset that turns agronomic expertise into measurable grower value.
• Independence, resilience and drive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

What we offer

• Base salary of $180,000-$190,000.
• Fully maintained Ford Ranger XL dual cab 4x4 (or equivalent).
• Business debit card, fuel card and tolls, laptop and company mobile.
• STIP up to $70,000 per annum and potential equity incentive participation.
