Agricultural Mechanic

About the role

A well-established family-owned agricultural business in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, which runs a large mixed farming operation producing cropping and livestock outputs, is looking for a full-time Agricultural Mechanic. The role reports directly to management and focuses on keeping the farm's machinery and equipment maintained and ready.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining agricultural machinery such as tractors, harvesters, trucks and implements
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
• Running preventative maintenance programs to keep machinery reliable
• Helping prepare machinery for peak cropping and harvest periods
• Maintaining workshop equipment and following safe work practices
• Ensuring equipment is ready and operational when needed

Required profile

• Previous experience as a mechanic in agriculture, heavy diesel or machinery maintenance
• Current driver's licence
• Experience with modern agricultural machinery and farm equipment is highly regarded

• Ability to work independently and manage maintenance schedules
• Practical mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Proactive attitude and ability to work within a small team
