Senior Clinical Measurement Scientist - Echocardiography

About the role

Metro North Health is recruiting a Senior Clinical Measurement Scientist (Echocardiography) for the Cardiac Investigations Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role delivers advanced echocardiography services as a senior member of a multidisciplinary cardiac team, working with a high degree of professional independence. It also supports outreach services, mentoring staff and contributes to research, education and service innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-level adult echocardiography services, applying professional judgement to complex clinical presentations and adapting practice to evidence and patient needs.
• Contribute to clinical practices, procedures, protocols and quality improvement initiatives that support safe and effective cardiac diagnostics.
• Take part in after-hours on-call echocardiography services, cardiac outreach programs and services delivered through the Heart Outreach Program for Health Equity (HOPE) and the Institute of Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients and carers, giving expert clinical advice and communicating diagnostic findings.
• Support education, training and professional development through mentoring, teaching, presentations and participation in research and clinical governance.
