Senior Case Manager - Carer Recruitment and Placements

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Senior Case Manager for its Foster Care, Adoption and Family Support (FAF) team. The role supports prospective carers from initial enquiry through assessment and authorisation, and responds to placement requests to match children and young people with suitable carers.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to foster care and adoption enquiries and support prospective carers through all stages of recruitment.
• Complete thorough and timely assessments of foster and dually-authorised carers, using multiple sources of evidence and professional judgement.
• Undertake probity and suitability checks and develop individual carer support and development plans.
• Respond to placement enquiries, maintain regular contact with carers to understand their capacity and availability, and facilitate placements.
• Take part in matching meetings and contribute professional assessment to placement decisions.
• Conduct annual carer reviews and take part in the on-call roster, professional supervision and ongoing development.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Services or equivalent.
• At least 3 years' experience in child protection and foster care services.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking assessments.
• Sound understanding of NSW foster care legislation, policy and processes.
• Current NSW driver's licence and ability to meet probity requirements, including a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

• Confidence in handling complex situations and difficult conversations, and working with carers, colleagues and external stakeholders.
