Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Mable, part of the Attain Healthtech Group, is hiring a Senior Engineer in Sydney. The role is a full-stack position with a strong focus on backend development, contributing to the stability and efficiency of the platform while also taking ownership of end-to-end software projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to solve complex problems and design effective backend solutions
• Take technical ownership of entire software projects, ensuring backend systems are robust, scalable and user-friendly
• Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of backend code to production
• Produce clear documentation, including data flows, diagrams, test results and code comments
• Investigate and resolve backend issues based on customer and stakeholder feedback
• Follow clean, standardised coding conventions and champion backend best practices
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions

Required profile

• 3-5 years of professional experience in software development in TDD environments
• Experience building, deploying and managing APIs on AWS infrastructure
• Experience building scalable, user-friendly backend applications
• Strong understanding of backend technologies and best practices
• Ability to design and implement backend solutions from requirements
• Experience testing and verifying backend code
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially for technical documentation
