Senior Automation Test Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our autonomy team in Perth. You will design and build scalable test automation frameworks from scratch and lead verification of autonomous mining solutions, ensuring complex distributed systems meet strict technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks with minimal supervision.
• Create automated tests for web applications, REST APIs and microservices.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Docker and related DevOps tools.
• Plan, design and execute integration, system, regression and performance tests.
• Build physical and virtual test jigs for hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, linking software test cycles with autonomous mining hardware.
• Validate distributed microservices running in Docker environments.
• Diagnose, document and track complex defects in real‑time processing and distributed messaging systems.
• Write test cases, log defects in Jira and prepare verification summaries.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in technology verification and validation, including 8+ years as an Automation Test Analyst or Engineer.
• Proven record of building automation frameworks from scratch with minimal guidance.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Perth on a 5/2 roster.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Robotics or a related technical field.
