Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Construction & Infrastructure Disputes

About the role

Join a leading national law firm’s Construction & Infrastructure practice as a Senior Associate or Special Counsel. You will work closely with senior partners to advise a diverse client base on complex, contentious construction matters across Sydney and Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex construction and infrastructure disputes from inception through to resolution.
• Advise clients on contractual disputes, delay and disruption claims, defects claims and variations disputes.
• Act in litigation before State and Federal Courts.
• Represent clients in domestic and international arbitrations.
• Handle Security of Payment claims, adjudications and related proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, submissions and other court and arbitration documents.
• Provide strategic risk‑management and dispute‑avoidance advice.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
• Contribute to business‑development initiatives and client‑engagement activities.

Required profile

• Lawyer with 6+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong experience in construction and infrastructure disputes.
• Excellent drafting, research and analytical abilities.
• Proven capacity to manage complex matters and foster client relationships.
