Senior Associate - Restructuring, Insolvency & Special Situations

About the role

Clayton Utz is recruiting a Senior Associate to join its growing Restructuring, Insolvency and Special Situations practice in Sydney. Working closely with the partner and national head of the practice, Katie Higgins, and other senior practitioners in a nationally collaborative team, you will act for global financial institutions, listed and multinational companies, financiers and insolvency practitioners. The role sits within a multi-disciplinary practice with opportunities to collaborate with peers and partners in other teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act on high-profile restructuring matters, including complex receiverships and workouts, complex financing arrangements, distressed debt, special situations and corporate insolvency.
• Build client relationships and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Work alongside partners and special counsel in a hands-on, collaborative environment with strong long-term clients.

Required profile

• 5+ years of PQE gained within a leading commercial law firm.
• Excellent academic performance.
• Experience in transactional banking or finance is highly regarded, especially a desire to expand into restructuring.
• Proactive, dedicated approach to client service with strong time and project management skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
