Senior Associate – Property & Commercial Contracts (In‑House)

About the role

This senior associate position supports a national business with a large property portfolio and diverse commercial operations. The role blends property and leasing expertise with a growing focus on commercial and procurement contracts, offering the chance to broaden in‑house legal experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support for a national commercial leasing portfolio, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases, renewals, variations and licence agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate procurement agreements, supplier contracts, services agreements, commercial contracts and NDAs.
• Partner with Procurement, Property, Facilities, Operations and Corporate Services to identify and manage contractual risk.
• Advise stakeholders on lease interpretation, obligations and risk, and on general commercial and corporate matters.
• Support acquisitions, disposals, strategic projects and dispute resolution.
• Manage external counsel where required and contribute to contract template and governance improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) with a current Australian practising certificate.
• Approximately 5 years post‑qualification experience, including strong property law and leasing exposure.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating procurement, supplier and services agreements.
• Commercially minded with a solutions‑focused mindset and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
