Senior Associate / Associate Director – Capital Transactions

About the role

Barings Real Estate Australia is looking for a Senior Associate or Associate Director to join its Investments Team. Reporting to the Co‑Heads, you will be responsible for property analysis, financial modelling and preparing detailed investment reports across a range of property sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and assess property deals, including existing assets and development sites, and present investment recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Support the full transaction lifecycle from negotiation and due diligence through to settlement, preparing acquisition proposals and divestment papers.
• Conduct detailed acquisition feasibility and financial modelling – DCF, IRR, equity multiple, capital structures and sensitivity analysis.
• Assist Portfolio, Development and Asset Management teams with reporting, quarterly investor updates and annual business planning.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of commercial real‑estate investment analysis experience in private‑equity, investment‑management, development or institutional settings.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in real estate, finance, business or mathematics.
• Strong understanding of multiple property sectors and a proven transactional track record.
• Excellent written communication, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently while contributing to a team.
