Senior Analyst – Private Tax

About the role

RSM Perth is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Private Tax team, delivering income tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of family‑owned businesses, trusts, and private companies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships and private companies, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Research complex private‑wealth tax issues and produce clear technical advice on trust taxation, Division 7A, CGT concessions, residency and international tax matters.
• Provide pre‑year‑end tax planning, wealth‑structuring and asset‑protection advice, and support succession and estate planning.
• Manage client compliance calendars, PAYG instalments, FBT obligations and other statutory deadlines.
• Act as liaison between partners, senior leaders and the wider team, building trusted client relationships.
• Assist with ATO reviews, audits, private rulings and dispute matters.

Required profile

• Australian tax, accounting or legal experience from mid‑tier, Big 4 or small‑business practices.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business or Commerce.
• Ability to prepare high‑quality client deliverables for senior review and to research tax legislation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of trust taxation, Division 7A, small‑business CGT concessions and international tax considerations.
• Experience with tax compliance calendars, PAYG, FBT and related statutory obligations.
